Freebie of the day today was a pleasingly large sample of a #Shakeaway milkshake – Cadbury’s selection box flavour. Seasonally appropriate.

There is always a freebie to be had. Sometimes a freebie can crop up quite unexpectedly, like the time the mechanic at the garage let me off 50% of the bill because I had enough time on my hands to smile at him (in a totally platonic fashion). Sometimes one can be chased down ruthlessly (and possibly slightly unethically – hence a slight lack of detail in this section). But having set out to secure a freebie every day, it’s essential to have some fail safe options in the back pocket. Hanging about in shopping malls has a high success rate – there’s often a pointless sample of something nobody wants going spare. The safest option though is to identify a couple of chocolate shops that routinely offer tasting samples, and plan your route accordingly.
