Today was quite an aesthetically pleasing day. As well as seeing my friend’s beautiful face smiling at me over a steaming cup of chai (always a delight), I also spent an inordinate amount of time gazing admiringly at a selection of patisserie items so beautiful that by rights they should have been strutting on catwalks, swathed in sashes and talking about their ambition to work with animals in pursuit of world peace.
