This has been a weekend of firsts and lasts of the season. Specifically, first frappucino; last football game. And as good as the atmosphere was at the football, I’m happy to report that a straight swap for the new #Starbucks banana caramel s’mores frappucino works very well for me for the Spring Summer 2016 season.
Obviously it’s not always as bearable when some things come to an end. Especially if there isn’t a frappucino handy. But quite apart from the start of something else, in my experience if you look hard enough, there is usually something good to be found in an ending. So the end of the football season, which was quite a sad occasion for some of my fellow more avid spectators, was brightened considerably by two simple things. Firstly, as one fan explained, the end of a rather tense season also marks the end of several months of squeaky bum time. Secondly, and rather more pleasingly, that same fan used a much better expression than ‘squeaky bum time’ (and one that I will hitherto adopt as standard). So, fans the world over will be able to relax, until the start of the next football season causes their bums once again to go ‘1p, 2p, 1p, 2p’. Happy days.
