Indefinite leave

on

I’ve taken a few days of annual leave. I had a few days left to use up, nothing planned. Actually that’s not strictly true. I did make a plan. I actively planned to do nothing. A few catch ups here and there with old friends. The odd trip up to London. Bit of horse riding. Two trips to the cinema. Visit from the family. That’s about it.

Hmmmm.

Turns out that pretty much fills three days, with not much time to get from one appointment to the next, let alone to sit around doing absolutely nothing. The bottom line is, there’s just too much good stuff to do. The flexibility of not having to go into work every day due to a bit of medical treatment meant I kind of got used to seeing a lot more of my friends and family than usual. And now, having to cram all those lovely people into evenings and weekends again just isn’t quite sufficient. So three whole empty days, well, they’re just crying out to be filled.

So, planned to do nothing. Changed my mind. And I guess a change is as good as a rest.
