About Turn

Well, there’s been plenty of turning on a sixpence this week. I’m feeling positively dizzy. Not helped by having had quite a few actual dizzy spells as a result of pesky drug side effects. That and a fair bit of sitting astride a horse who was quite successfully channeling a fairground carousel.

Back from holiday, dreading work. Back to work: about turn! All fantastic. Couple of days later: about turn. Work quite terrible. Friday couldn’t come soon enough. This had actually been the longest week in the history of the world. I would definitely need another holiday to turn this around. By Sunday: totally fine, weekend has been fantastic – everything turned back around again and all fine for Monday. When the merry go round will start all over again.

Plenty of turning from the horse this weekend too – mainly in sharp circles to face the direction of home halfway through a what I thought was a mutually enjoyable ride across sunny fields. I guess that’s kind of it though – horses for courses.  My enjoyable ride is a pain in the arse for a horse – it’s basically his equivalent of work. Hanging about all day in the field is his weekend – which seems a bit unfair as he gets five days of that to my two. Not sure I’ve got much chance of turning that one around.

Oh well. People pay for a ride on a merry go round, and I’m getting all this for free. Plus anything that puts me as far from Thatcher as humanly possible can only be a good thing. And this lady is definitely for turning.
