Blank Space

I’ve had a pretty normal week this week. Mainly consisting of getting up, going to work, coming home, going to bed. Times five. Followed by a pretty normal weekend. Consisting of getting up, not going to work, going to bed. Times two. Throw in a bit of socialising, a couple of meals out, a cinema trip and the requisite spot of shopping, and you’ve got the full picture. Oh, plus a flashy afternoon tea for four, in a padded basement with a mirrored ceiling (actually true. Also actually not what you’re thinking. Check out the Crazy Bear if you don’t believe me).

So now I’m getting ready to go to bed, before getting up for work, and hitting repeat. And other than a slight, low-level concern about the lack of material for a blog post that such normality provides, I have to say I’m pretty delighted with this state of affairs. It’s not often that I have a full week without medical appointments or treatment-induced effects of one sort or another. It’s also pretty unusual for me to have a full-on week of work, followed by a weekend during which I actually have the energy to chase up and down the country seeing people and doing things and spending significantly more time enjoying myself than trying hard to enjoy myself while looking forward to bedtime. So, at the risk of spawning a series of equally dull blog posts (and I do realise this is possibly not the most tempting offer for prospective repeat readers) I’m looking forward to an equally boring week to come. In fact, I’m looking forward to it so much, I think I’ll go straight to bed. And then get up. And go to work…
